Our little flower sings a melodic tune

When she was full of the joy of play

It seemed to be her sacred theme

As she warbled it night and day


I asked her about the beauty

Of words flowing like a breeze

She said she had made it up

As a give to earth to please

For she loved to laugh along

dancing sweet steps and twirls

It did indeed sound like inside

a musical magician inside that girl


Oh, yes she said, it is the angel

That makes me love this earth

And the joy so kind and sweet

Since mama gave me the gift of birth


So she sings each time, inside and out

The tune has height and depth of life

Even sad tearful times, that too

But always coming over sad strife


Her composition brings such joy

A symphony of childhood lows, and highs

That show to us, shuttered adults

The truest goal of living life . . .

Like the flower that she is

In the bouquet of life you see

She prays in song for all of you and me
