Grrrr! Rwoof!



It had a fierce wild furry head

fang teeth razor sharp. lips blood red

yet his scared lips seem to smile

I do believe it after a little while

🐕

It did not growl or bark

did not seem to want to bite

so I smiled back at that face

its eyes seem to fill with delight


from its throat came a sound

a little rumble I swear I heard

seemed to accompany a smile

somehow like a singing bird


the shine beaming from that face

had me reaching out as if to pet

it bowed its head with grace it seemed

indeed a soundless answer I did get


And bless his fuzzy dirty fur coat

I took him for a bathtub swim

and shined him up, for it was a boy

I felt so happy, for me, for him


that clean mutt joined our happy home

and made it even richer and good fun

‘specially when you throw out that ball

and watched him happily run run run!


Always look for kindness dear friends

you will find it you so very very true

that the whole earth indeed lights up

below a sky, moonlit night or daytime blue
