Tiger Bay
Wet Tiger Tails of Blue
🐯
Oh how they looked so lovely
orange and black, green and blue
until you heard that wet bellow
as they growled beneath the sea
The bay was filled with golden tigers
swimming round, round, up and down
how many you could not count
distracted by that weird water sound
their snarls and deep wet growls
echoed in sea grass, up from the bottom
seemed to cause the fish to dance
in a strange fearful paddling
as if they were drawn to swim
into the tiger’s open jaws
those big orange cats with stripes
confusing as the rippling tides
After supping their padded footprints
would quietly spot the sandy shore
as they headed off to dark green shade
in their jungle vibrant emerald home
maybe there they’d take a nap
or hunt some bloody meat to kill
for dinner time would come soon
creatures hiding, fearfully walking by
Napping in dreams, breathing snores
the orange and lovely cats laid out
tails wrapped on their side like a hug
or proudly flagged straight out
We just know that in quiet night
birds sang their hymn while tigers rest
in revelries of seas so blue, green pathways
angel wings upon their backs for in heaven
eternally, they would fly in skies of blue, so blue
