Arthritis

(or Awful Uncle Arty Rightus visits again)

독🐕⽝

How quietly it sneaks upon

Surprise cracks like a whip

Upon joint finger swift

With sudden alarm, bitter bite

The fierce dog of inner realms

Wagging a tail and barking

You want neither to see nor hear

Growling stabs a knife bite of pain

Villian of any age yet creeps

Throughout this aging body

With a sincere ugly game

To tell you of fragility

Of menace of despair

The pills you take fly away

It seems without remedy

The medicine only now

To tell you that you live

In life surrounded not just by

Cruelty, war and hate

The human love you have for self

Is wakened once again to sorrow

Of the living and the good

That somehow still holds a sway

To keep your sanity at bay

But never, so far, gone away
