The Breath of Dog


I once heard prophetically

that before the age of man

Dog created suns and planets

Anubis jovially barked "Follow that Plan!"


With his flowing breath of blue

blew in the waters and the sky

hot / cold molten stones, rocks and dirt

gathered for the great by and by


The beauty orderly or growing wild

filled the firmament with glowing lights

star suns, moons, planets, comets from birth

orbits diverse in years, eons, days, nights


Yes some folk may envision & surmise

this mad dog idea by an ungainly heretic

but we all know that as our own world

did evolve in love semantic & romantic


So gather back and just pretend

that Dog indeed was the first

turned to foxes, wolves and pets

in this holy grand sublime universe


Woof! Growl! Bark! And gently whine

for dogs we love love us back

even jackals heartily love to laugh

all canines cuddle or rudely do attack


So let us learn to enjoy each one

a canine creator that may be

can be no better or no worse

than a holy man made like you and me
