Hands Tied Under the Rainbow

Hands tied Under the Rainbow

Dirtied and washed in the games we play

hearts send our lives aflutter

among the dreads and dreams we list

tales voiced clear or in a mutter

we often guess what others tell

their voices speak to all but you

basking in the glow of guess

ideas that adhere as if by glue

Whatever they think you should do

Unknowing how to preform the task

it is as if your hands are tied

mind contained closed behind a mask

We have not Keller’s curiosity

the instinct to touch the lips

all is gathered with hope and trust

the speech heard on finger tips

The rain of silence and of doubt

clouds over in greyish, black and white

a rainbow forms when, kissed by sun

we are kissed by friendship bright
