Mortal Life
We sit upon a stool milking our sweet hope
Creaming, working, playing to open up and see
Some believe in the stable safe afterlife
To join God in heavenly pastures eternally
Truth be told afterlife is of little worth
For we shall be buried six feet underground
As soil becomes our caressing blanket
Melting into earth the cycle goes round & round
Death will turn our light to darkness
The unknown shall we see and be
Before Father and mother, who birthed
Created that little baby that was/is thee
May your adventure be like a book
Each page opening a continued light new
Learning as much diving flying into fathoms
Of our brown green earth to sky rainbow blue
Study mingle with all kinds of people
In our nation we can know a variety of folk
Around the world a panorama of all life
Each human kind wide culture do evoke
learn the ideas, history, skills and crafts
Each day a treasure chest, open to be viewed
To live in kindly battle, seriously and true
Devour thankfully all kinds of nourishing food
The world is wide, round filled with creatures
Great and small, of deserts gold and dry
And land fertile up and down, high mountains
creatures that in our world crawl walk and fly
forests, tundra frozen and barren plain,
waters far and wide stretch in oceans
rivers ponds lakes and streams
always, like us in flowing with emotion
🌍🌎🌏
Remember always to open wide the arms
To grown good for humans of all kinds
For with respect and compassion
We open up our hearts and minds
Dance, explore, climb and succumb
To the wonders that will never cease
Yes, humans all you must accept and learn
To live, not in evil war, but in holy peace
WE are free when we all open doorways
in what we call loving hearts, our minds
never close yourself to one another
there as sister, brother, child you’ll find
Chirp, warble, bellow, sing like a bird
gobble, bark, moo, hiss, squeak or purr
yodel, sing, chant, solo or in chorus
listen, sonnets all emotional sounds occur
theres are so many songs to know
in talk, as well as tune, so listen
everyone, all their songs are part
of the fabric of life, solemn or they glisten
Learning life and loving are indeed
the rewards of our mortality
so learn at last, be fools of hate no more
of all our strengths and frailties
