Word Farm
Word Farmers
This is for all of you whose farms
are lined upon your book shelves
made by writers of all kinds
or highly literate writing elves
I know that is a silly note
but fairies do indeed play
with our reading minds
in the most delightful way
What this poem is all about
you may say with odd alarm
for not all can see the relation
fields of words coming from a farm
First I must ask you some dirt
on a personal note I plant
my plea and joy earnestly
to find out if I must recant
When was the last time
you saw piglets, pigs or hogs?
In a barnyard or in dreams
snoring, sawing farmyard logs?
Was it on your breakfast table
bacon crispy on your plate so fine
or with chops, loin or roast with
mashed potatoes at dinnertime?
Perhaps your religion bars you
from Moses to Mohamed holy dears
whose ancient laws that hate to dine
upon those funny creatures we do hear
with squeaky voices, oinking loud
how many folks have shown alarm
grunting as we defilers do eat them
your chance at heaven it will harm?
Oh, that is not mine to contemplate
for some seem to think that books
will give you earthly frighten words
destroy their holy racist hidden works
Heaven forefend that you learn
to think all by your self and read
for stupidity seems to reign afraid if
people will think and women not breed!
Oh how silly that becomes why I ask
Petunia and Porky to tell you to hear
answering my dizzy poetry question
about word farming loud and clear?
Do you read my Dizzyland blog
not near Hollywood or Florida keys?
I wonder if it sings words your read
of literacy and humor if you please
Do you read words I do write
upon my farm in dark or sunlight?
I wonder if my blog farms well
the stories & poem songs it does tell.
Please let me know if you do read
and can subscribe it online too
not just when I did once post
it in that Facebook screen for you?
I thank you for the feedback
do how my word has porcine grace
to grunt, oink and laugh, retort my sport
with a sincere, literate sweet face!
OINK!
